Acting Workshop

Yesterday at JCSGN Worship Center, I attended a
one whole day acting workshop headed by Sis. Tess A. Cascasan...

It was awesome! I love the workshop..
Tita Tess was a great teacher, she knows how to act very well..

Many youth attended the workshop to boost up their confidence
and to discover if they have hidden talents in acting..
Tita Tess taught us how to be focused when we are already on the
scene and delivering our lines...
She taught us how to act in sad scenes, she told us
that crying is not the basis if you're a good dramatic actor, but instead if
you cannot cry at all, just make your voice a little husky..
Just make it, as if you are crying..

We also learned that listening is a very important part of learning..
And indeed an essential when we want to learn something like acting..

I remembered the lines;
"This is a bear, and this is a good bear. OK? Now, what is the question?"

The instruction was, we need to listen to what she will say and we'll just whisper
to the facilitators our answer..
At first it seems that it's a very hard one, but when I listened carefully to the statement, I
realized that the answer is "OK?"

I also remembered this lines;
"Andito ka nanaman! Di ba't sabi ko sayo na ayoko nang makita
'yang pagmumukha mo dito. Lumayas ka! Layas!"

We used these lines for the whole exercises..
We used it when the scene is sad, funny, angry, nervous, afraid, convincing, curious, etcetera..

Thanks to Tita Tess for her effort and patience, so that we could
learn so many things about acting.. :)
